Hi there! I'm Leo Bonasera (also known as ItalianAce), a 3D modeler specializing in Maya, Substance Painter, and hand-painted texturing in Photoshop and Clip Studio Paint. My favorite things to model are fantasy weapons.I'm also a beginning modder for Kingdom Hearts 3, making custom keyblades for Twitch streamers and commissioners! I also do 2D digital art through Clip Studio Paint. You can find examples of my work below!

Here are some objects rendered with an ambient occlusion, wireframe, and textured pass in Maya's Arnold renderer! I typically work in quads and then convert to tri polygons if importing into a game engine like Unreal 5.

Ionic Column with chipped paint

Ancient Roman Dagger

Metallic stylized heart

Wrench

Sci-Fi Stylized Sword

Mallet

Screwdriver

Pliers

Pipewrench

Sci-Fi Stylized Gun
Check out some of my full environment renders, done in Maya through the Arnold renderer! Texturing done in Substance Painter.

Done for a project entitled "Dystopia: 21st Century Angst," meant to invoke a long-since abandoned battlefield over ownership of Mars. Inspired by Kingdom Heart's keyblade graveyard.

Done for a project entitled "Little Planet: It's A Small World," meant to represent the office of a steampunk music box maker who's building a mechanical little forest in one of his creations. Inspired by steampunk art.
I typically unwrap my object's UVs in Maya, and then texture either by painting in Clip Studio Paint or Photoshop, or by bringing the object into Substance Painter. Sometimes I utilize both for a single model! I work in both stylized and fantasy realism modes of texturing.

The keyblade modded for Kingdom Hearts 3 for Twitch streamer MarKatoto. These textures were hand-painted in Clip Studio Paint.

Quick screencapture of the Blender file with rig for Dollip's keyblade. These textures were all done in Substance Painter, expect for some detail on the keychain being hand-drawn in Clip Studio Paint.

Detail shot for Dollip's keychain.

Capture of the UV layout for MarKatoto's keyblade in Maya. This was then into Clip Studio Paint and drawn over.

Render of the keyblade made for Penny (SnapCube). Textures done completely in Substance Painter.

UVs for Penny's keyblade, with ID material colors assigned to them (which I didn't end up needing for the final product, but it makes the UVs look extra nice).
You can always find me at ItalianAce online! The best place to support me or ask for a commission is my Ko-Fi.
